Our Bannockburn cellar door is closed tomorrow for Good Friday but open as usual Saturday, Sunday and Monday. It is a beautiful time of year to visit our gorgeous part of Central Otago so pop in for a tasting!

We are proud to announce two fantastic results which will feature in the latest edition of Cuisine Magazine. Our Akarua Pinot Noir 2017 picking up an overall 2nd place in this prestigious tasting, and our RUA Pinot Noir recognized as a 'best buy', adding to an existing three trophies. Available nationwide and through our cellar door.

Its is our 21st day of picking! March 5, 6, 8, 11, 13, 14, 15, 18, 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, 30, April 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and today the 10th. We are just over halfway based on tonnage, go team!

Rainbow over the chardonnay this morning. Does it mean we are capturing something magical in our fruit? Or just that we are going to get wet and may not finish lol

A huge thankyou to our Akarua picking crew and the men from Grapevision who came in at the end of the day to nail a pick in a challenging trellising system and a large ganamedes tank to fill! With frost been and rain coming, picking in the dark was no challenge! Thank you all!

Another beautiful harvest lunch completed for our wine club members, hosted next to the vines on our Cairnmuir Road home site.

We could not celebrate our 20th Harvest without raising a glass (of bubbles of course!) to our Methode. Whilst Central Otago is predominantly known for its delicious Pinot Noir it also holds the perfect continental climate to produce award-winning sparkling wines.

Akarua's journey into the world of bubbles began back in 2011 under the expert supervision of Dr Tony Jordan. Since this, our sparkling range has become not only a customer favourite but recognised worldwide with a host of awards and accolades.
