Rua Pinot Noir 2012

Renowned Canadian wine writer Natalie MacLean recently tasted our RUA Pinot Noir 2012 and awarded 91 points out of 100.

Her tasting notes are as follows;

"Rich cherry aromas and flavours without being too sweet. Love the balance and acidity that adds complexity to this wine. Medium-bodied and satin-textured. Gorgeous mouth-filling voluptuousness. Long finish. Great value."

“Another delight from this scenic region of the South Island. Thank you Anne-Marie, agency Vintrinsec, for making me discover this little gem. Pinot nose with a charm. On the palate, flavors of red cherry and cranberry are evident. A subtle bitterness underlying soft tannins. It is a wine with a focus more on the fun complexity length, but with a lovely gourmet intensity. A boom for Central Otago Pinot, served on game fineness. Make sure you have accompany with your duck & turkey this Christmas. A favorite.”

As a drink-young style, praised by two judges as ‘pretty’, this is hard to beat. Full-coloured, it is fragrant and buoyantly fruity, with concentrated, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours and a subtle seasoning of oak (10% new).
