Hi there,

I love your wine, especially this year's Rose. Had a bottle from the supermarket last week and though 'Mmm that was so good I'll go and buy half a case for Christmas.' Now I like to buy local and support the industry. So I loaded up the wee one for a big expedition and set off for Akarua Artisan kitchen, planning to buy a case and a coffee. What better way to spend a Saturday?

So, imagine my surprise when I arrived at Akarua's own cellar door tasting restaurant and was informed that there was none for sale because they weren't supplied enough. The mind boggled. So I set off to the local bottle store, then to the supermarket again on my quest. Nada, none to be had. Finally I admitted defeat, my Rose needs were not going to be fulfilled.

All was not lost, I had a brainwave, the great and almighty web of the internet would be my saviour and bring this delicious pink nectar to my doorstep. Alas alas, ordering directly from you guys was a whole three dollars per bottle more than other sites. That made me sad. Not to mention it still had to be shipped.

So now my wine is on its way from Auckland. It seems a little sad that I couldn't buy it from the local cellar door.

Perhaps it is worth considering supplying a little more locally? It would be kinder to the environment (although my wine will be well travelled when it eventually arrives I'm sure I won't get the airpoints)and it would make it easier for locals to support local business.

Yours in eventual relief, currently drinking a different Central Otago vintage as I await postal delivery.
